We work in small runs, so every story in this journal starts at the cutting table. The fabric decides the shape, the shape decides the stitch, and the stitch decides how long the piece will last.

At the table

Each roll is unrolled, inspected and marked with chalk before a single cut is made. Flaws are circled and cut around rather than hidden, which is why no two runs are ever quite the same.

What comes next

When a roll runs out, the piece is retired or remade in a new cloth. Sign up to Field Notes to hear when the next run is cut.
